I've never read Ivan Illyich, but the other two I read recently. The Jungle because of a novella by Stephen Hunter where he explores the area and 1984 because of what's going on in India and how totalitarianism seems to be taking over the world. We have been warned, but nobody pays attention to writers until it's too late I guess.
